Junior River Ranger Program

The Junior River Ranger Program is similar to other programs you might find in some National Parks, except it is geared towards teaching children the meaning of river stewardship. Through various activities they learn about the Farmington River and why it is important to protect this natural resource.

To use the Junior River Ranger Activity Booklet, children choose from a variety of activities in the book that will get them outdoors and to different areas along the river. They then mark their answers inside the book. If a child completes at least as many activities as they are years old, the booklet can be returned for a badge and a certificate of completion (see sidebar for locations the completed booklet can be returned to).
